ASIS Exhibitor Floor Traffic Weak

by John Honovich, IP Video Market Info posted on Sep 15, 2008 About John Contact John

Traffic on the exhibit floor looks weak.  I had a couple of colleagues guess. Their estimates range from 10% - 30% less than the last few years.  Whatever the specific traffic levels are, it's pretty clear that many booths are empty for significant period of times.  Some of the areas, especially in the corners is shockingly light.

Is the general economic climate having an impact?  I think so.  I have had a number of friends in sales tell me stories of significant security managers deciding not to come due to budget concerns.  Considering the first day of the show is usually the heaviest traffic, it will be interesting to see how Tuesday and Wednesday hold.
